Labour Party Candidate - December 2024 General Election

In December 2024, I had the privilege of being a Labour Party candidate in the General Election for Galway West. This marked an important milestone, as I became the first migrant to ever be nominated to run for the Labour Party in both Galway and the West of Ireland. It was a deeply meaningful and transformative experience, one that I will carry with me throughout my career.

Throughout the campaign, I was inspired by the incredible support from the people of Galway West, who demonstrated a strong commitment to the values of equity, inclusion, and equality. These values were at the heart of my message, and it was humbling to see how the 'Gaillimhogbu' tagline resonated with so many. This slogan, which translates to "Galway is Home," became a powerful symbol of unity and belonging for people of all backgrounds, reflecting our shared vision for a more inclusive society.

The campaign was an invaluable opportunity for personal growth and learning. I had the chance to meet and engage with so many people across Galway West, hear their concerns, and work together on ideas for a brighter, fairer future. It was a true honour to represent the Labour Party and the ideals it stands for—fighting for social justice, equality, and a community-driven future.

I am incredibly grateful to all those who supported me during this journey. Your encouragement, your voices, and your belief in our shared vision are what keep me motivated in my work as a Councillor and in the ongoing fight for equity, inclusion, and equality.
